Not Anxiety, but Peace

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

“Be anxious for nothing…” Well! THAT’S a tall order isn’t it? On our own, this is inconceivable and yet, we are told how to do that in the very same sentence. “In EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication…” I can tell you that when I am in regular communication with my heavenly Father, my anxiety level drops dramatically. Why? Because it is in prayer and thanksgiving that we receive the supernatural peace that only comes from Him.

Can we truly understand how we can experience peace in the midst of a storm? No, because we are told that this peace “surpasses all understanding.” But I can testify to the fact that I have felt His peace when I wouldn’t have believed it possible. And we get another wonderful gift from this amazing peace….this very same peace will “guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” And in this very difficult world that we live in, don’t we need that?!

So as you are being attacked by the enemy with various tests and trials…remember to run to our strong tower, cling to the truths of His Word and receive peace beyond all understanding.
