Amidst the chaos......be still

Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.”

There are so many things in our world that keep us from even thinking about being “still.” Just the fast pace we live in is bad enough but then we have the constant barrage from the media that has the potential to keep us so worked up that the thought of just “being still” seems impossible. Our world as we know it is more filled with strife and chaos than it has ever been and there is no seeming end in sight. On top of it, there are so many that are currently out of a job, taking the stress and anxiety levels to even greater heights.

Just today, I had a neighbor ask me how I could be so happy in the midst of all of this. My reply was “The Lord. There is no point in worrying because what is going to happen, is going to happen. Besides, the Lord is the One in charge and that is my greatest comfort.”

So, in conclusion, the bottom line is that we need to cling to the Lord much tighter now, more than ever. I can promise you that there is much joy, security, and peace waiting for you if you can “Be still and know that I am God.”
